March at Morada Pure
We are forever falling in love with the scents that RICA Bath and Body has to offer, and we are ecstatic to now be carrying their natural scented room sprays! Available in two of our favorite scents: the crisp and fresh Salt & Shore, and the elegantly sweet Coconut Husk + Turbinado. These sprays offer a greener alternative to a clean smelling room, and we can't get enough! RICA's individually (and adorably) wrapped Lavender Rose Bath Melts have made their home on our shelves, and they will make a great gift for any upcoming birthdays in this busy month!
Meow Meow Tweet will make you forget about lotion with their hydrating, yet non-oily, body oils. Offering great versatility and saved space, these oils can be applied to your body, bath and hair for added moisture. Available in 3 scents, these oils are as unique as you. Frankincense, geranium and palmarosa nourish, tone and heal in the Frankincense + Flowers scented body oil. For dry or weathered skin, Juniper Mint combines woody juniper berry with crisp peppermint and herbal rosemary to calm your skin. This oil can also be used to help dandruff if applied to wet hair and massaged through. For a gentle and calming scent that can also be used as a gentle bug repellent, Lavender Lemongrass is the body oil for you!
Feel free to call us if you have any questions about these wonderful new products!
Self Care Sunday
Even during the busiest week, it is important to take a bit of time to pamper our minds and our body. For Morada Pure founder Tiffany, this day is Sunday. I asked Tiffany to share her Self Care Sunday routine, and she was more than happy to share!
My Sunday begins with lounging on the sofa or a walk with my husband and dogs. After a smoothie or a sweet treat (I like to indulge a bit on Sundays) I like to shower and wash my hair, washing away any of the residuals of the previous day and start anew. While in the shower I will treat my skin with the Kindred Polish Cleanse that I use once a week, exfoliating my skin and then rinsing away the fig seeds leaving a rich mango butter on my skin to protect and hydrate. I also love to treat the rest of my skin with a weekly exfoliation. Currently I am using a DIY salt scrub I made during my New Moon meditation, this scrub is great not only for exfoliation but for removing negative or unwanted energy, see recipe below. I love this new moon scrub to remind and connect myself with that new moon energy of new beginnings. Intentions that I set for myself during that meditation come back to life each time I use this scrub. Once I am out of the shower I remove any butters left behind from the Kindred Polish Cleanse with a wet wash cloth (I always prefer cold) and hydrate my face with Kindred Morning Moisture, and my body with the Kindred Body Oil. Typically I like to sit outside with my dogs and air dry my hair while I read a good book. I just finished Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman and loved it!
There are as many routines out in the world as there are people. We would LOVE to hear the routine that you have created for yourself, that special daily or weekly practice that you hold dear to your heart. As a thank you for sharing a little part of your life with us, we will be choosing one routine to be the winner of this month's giveaway! The winner will receive one Meow Meow Tweet body oil of their choice! To enter, submit your routine to firstname.lastname@example.org. Winner will be announced next blog post!
DIY Salt Scrub Recipe:What you will need:
- 1 cup Himalayan sea salt
- 1/4 cup carrier oil (can't go wrong with coconut oil)
- 20 drops of essential oil total. For example you can use 10 drops of lavender & 10 drops of lemon, which is what Tiffany made recently.
- 1 tablespoon of our castile soap or any other castile soap. This is optional and will give you a cleaner rinse. I skip this step but some like a scrub that is not too oily feeling on the skin after rinsing.
- Large mixing bowl
- Mason jar
During the new moon, pour the cup of sea salt in to your large mixing bowl. Hold the bowl of salt with both hands and think about your intentions, focusing on your desire for any new change. Feel your hands sending energy and intention into the bowl. When your ready place the bowl back down and begin adding drops of the essential oil into the salt. As you do this visual that the oil infusing the salt with your positive intentions. Then add your carrier oil and optional castile soap and mix with your hands. Transfer scrub to a mason jar, and store near your shower or sink.
March is so full of holidays that a handful have already passed, including International Women's Day and World Wildlife Day. In the near horizon is Daylight Savings Time on the 12th, so don't forget to shift your clocks forward! Soon after, on the 16th, is this month's Third Thursday Art Walk! Special Wrapping Tree Jewelry will be set up on the Morada Pure patio, so be sure to stop by and check out some handmade jewelry! Thursday Night's festivities quickly turn into Friday morning festivities this month, with St. Patrick's Day happening on the 17th! Usually the only thing green on me is my hair and skin products, but I'll be sure to wear green that Friday- I don't want to get pinched!
With all of the buzz surrounding this month, I'm sure March will go by quicker than we know it, but that doesn't mean there isn't time to always take care of ourselves and show our loved ones that we care. We at Morada Pure hope you know how much you are appreciated, and loved. Just another friendly reminder to turn your clocks forward on the 12th, and to enter our giveaway! Until next time, we hope you enjoy nothing but pink skies.
